Sane replaces Undav in Germany Nations League squad
Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane will replace the injured Deniz Undav in Germany's squad for upcoming Nations League games against Bosnia and Hercegovina and Hungary, the German FA (DFB) announced Sunday.
Undav, who scored for Germany in a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands last month, was forced to withdraw due to a "strain in his left hamstring", the DFB said.
The Stuttgart striker came off early during his side's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Atalanta in midweek, and was also left out of the squad for Sunday's game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
He will be replaced in the Germany squad by Sane, who returns to the fold for the first time since the European Championship earlier this year.
The Bayern star was left out of the squad for both of the last two international breaks as he recovered from a minor operation.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann had originally opted to rest him for the November internationals, saying Sane needed "more match practice".
Nagelsmann's side are currently top of their Nations League group and remain unbeaten after four games.
They face Bosnia in Freiburg on Saturday before travelling to Hungary the following Tuesday.
